As I see it, these solutions are truly promising. What matters now is creating attractive certificate frameworks and viable business models that make environmental services economically relevant. This is also an important area for further research. If done right, it can create new value chains, reduce national resource dependency, strengthen soil health, farm profitability, and overall food system resilience.

RESTART EARTH FOUNDATION

Restart Earth Foundation is established to support and govern the Restart Institute.

Alongside this, we drive the debate on how to evaluate green investments in society, and demonstrate the best methods, and legal requirement to fulfill the most responsible approach.

This includes ensuring that knowledge requirements and consideration rules are applied, when detailed community development plans are made.

This to the greatest extent possible, including its specific conditions, for our children’s future.

Instead of the ‘shades of green’ we see today, Susanné understood that only something truly green could offer real hope. She found that hope in the founder’s solution—and chose to dedicate herself to making it a force that supports farmers, future generations, and enables a shift in economic flows aligned with the EU Taxonomy.

— Susanné, General Secretary at Restart Earth Foundation

THE FOUNDER

The founder grew up on a farm. While studying national economics, agriculture, and geochemistry, he observed a striking trend — a global population curve that steadily increased pressure on nature and the Earth’s resources.

For more than 30 years, he searched for a path forward. He investigated a new chain reaction, and at a groundbreaking moment, he had a breakthrough. He saw hydrogen and it’s part in the process. This eye-opener fitted into a long reaction of molecules. All in a closed-loop system. He established the institute to conduct further research into this new reaction. The institute sought to evaluate the process within the current market economy. This led to significant challenges and resistance, as this new process was a game changer.

He worked to investigate and evaluate the benefits for both the public and nature. It became clear that many values had never been priced before: a regenerative system capable of protecting nature, animals, and future generations. For a long time, he financed the research for the public’s good. He communicated its benefits to professors, politicians, and other stakeholders using his own resources.

When he met Susanné, she recognized the difficulties the founder faced in both explaining the process, finance and its public value. There was no arena or forum capable of responsibly evaluating different types of green solutions. A significant gap existed between science, the market, and political decision-making. Existing research and funding systems were not designed to assess this kind of solution; they could not measure a regenerative, green, holistic system. New tools were needed to properly value and understand the full benefits for society. Susanné and Per therefore together established Restart Earth Foundation, to support the institute.

The institute’s role is to implement and realize the process, within a new sustainable energy system. This work connects directly to the foundation’s broader efforts to redefine how green investments are valued. The foundation drives the debate about the transition from a traditional market-based economy toward a planned sustainable market economy, where society’s resources are used in the best possible way. This includes governing the knowledge about the requirement and applying the consideration rules, in an interdisciplinary manner, using the best available technology, and planning for future generations within their ecosystems.

The reaction within the process fulfills the legacy of the Haber–Bosch process—yet transforms it into a regenerative cycle that converts problems into solutions. We took a system that once fed the world but depleted the soil, and now we aim to restore both the Earth and future generations.

RESTART INSTITUTE

Restart Institute is responsible for the practical implementation of the researched regenerative energy system, within a new societal framework based on a planned sustainable market economy.

The institute serves as a practical and scientifical tool, to demonstrate and explain the system. Through real world chemistry in the market and to apply system thinking, that shows how the regenerative cycles work in a closed loop, minimizing waste and continuously reusing resources.
